The Origine France Garantie certification was created to assure consumers of the French origin of the products they buy. For a product to qualify, it must meet two main criteria:
1. The product must have its essential characteristics in France.
2. At least 50 % of its unit cost price must be acquired in France.
This certification, officially presented to the French National Assembly in 2011, aims to provide clear and transparent information on the origin of products, while promoting French know-how and production.
