What size should I choose at Du Bon Côté?

Finding the perfect size can sometimes seem complicated, but we're here to make the process easier.

To start with, take a look at our clearly laid out sizing chart. It gives you a clear idea of the measurements required for each size we offer.

To get a better idea, consider this example: If you have a neck size of 40 cm and a bust size of 114 cm, we recommend size M.

How do you take your measurements?

To ensure your shirt fits perfectly, it's essential to measure yourself accurately. Follow these detailed steps to measure each part of your body properly.

The neckband

Measure around your neck where the shirt collar usually sits. Leave space for two fingers between your neck and the tape measure to ensure a comfortable fit.

Chest size

Place the tape measure around the widest part of your chest, usually just under the armpits. Make sure the tape measure is horizontal and not too tight.

Waist circumference

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, usually at the navel. Again, make sure the tape measure is level and not too tight.

The stocking turn

Measure around the widest part of your hips, where they start to widen from your waist.

Shoulder width

Stand up straight with your arms relaxed at your sides. Ask someone to measure from shoulder to shoulder at the widest point, usually where the sleeve seam meets the shirt.

Sleeve length

Bend your elbow slightly. Start at the top of the shoulder (where you took the shoulder width measurement) and measure to the middle of the back of the hand, passing through the outside of the arm.

The length of the back

Start at the top of the back, where the shirt collar begins, and measure to where you want the shirt to end, usually at the middle of the buttocks.

Tips for finding the perfect size at Du Bon Côté

When you're looking for the perfect fit for a shirt, there are some key elements to consider. Particularly for our La Brestoise, La Belliloise and La Bigoudène shirts, which have a slim fit.

Bending and cutting : These shirts have a slim fit, which means they follow the shape of the body more closely than traditional shirts. Something to bear in mind when you consult our sizing chart.

Post-wash shrinkage : As with many garments, you may notice a little shrinkage after the first wash. If this is a concern, it could influence your decision on which size to choose.

Between two sizes : If your measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend that you choose the larger size. This will ensure optimum comfort and take into account any potential shrinkage.
